ENERGY AUDIT
An energy audit is an inspection and analysis of energy flows in a building to give insight
into the possible solutions for energy efficiency related to the building audited. The
purpose of conducting an audit is to seek opportunities to reduce energy consumption and
carbon footprint without negatively affecting thermal comfort, health, and indoor air
quality.
The main goals of energy audit:
• Understanding where energy is used within the system and where it is wasted,
• Finding alternative solutions to reduce energy consumption and enhance the overall
performance,
• Prioritizing the energy use according to the greatest to least cost-effective
opportunities to determine which one is the best to implement.
